Cortland was founded in 2005 in Atlanta, GA with a focus on apartment development in the US. In 2008, we expanded our focus to acquiring and renovating existing multifamily communities ? all with a vision to challenge the conventions of the traditional apartment industry through better living spaces and experiences. Over the course of the next 10 years, we became one of the largest multifamily operators in the US. In 2017, we saw an opportunity to elevate the apartment living experience in the UK and broke ground on our first build-to-rent development, Cortland Cassiobury.
