Job Description:
My client is a well-established Global manufacturer, and leader in its field, with a fantastic culture and a continuous drive for improvement and development of their products and staff. Due to continued expansion, they are now seeking a fully skilled CNC operator and setter to operate various CNC’s, as well as machine complex components to high tolerances in-line with productivity targets.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
* To operate manual and CNC multi axis machine centers
* Develop new parts in collaboration with NPI teams
* Keep documentation up to date, informing the Team Leader at all times of any issues.
* Ensure you strive to achieve the machine shop’s productivity targets
* Support development to improve skills & flexibility
* Maintain and adhere to all H&S standards and requirements to BS18001
* Willing to undertake any task asked of them by the business
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
* Able to work part of a team and show flexibility
* Experience in settinging and operating multi-axis machinery. Fanuc control system experience is required
* Understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
* Experience in modern manufacturing processes
* Experience on process control and quality standards
* Experience in using CMM machines
* Experience in using inspection equipment
* Good problem solving skills
* Strong work ethics
* Good communication skills and time management
* Willing to work overtime when required.
Desirable:
* Knowledge in other CNC turning and milling applications
* Experience of live tooling and sub-spindle lathes is an advantage
Education and Qualifications:
Essential:
* Ideally educated to BTEC, HND (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
* GCSE (or equivalent) Math’s and English.
This is a full time, permanent position working a 37.5 hour shift, Monday to Friday. You would be on a double-day shift and your hours would be 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm on a weekly rotation.
