Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Biology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in the Southwest of Sheffield. This part-time role and is for the summer term for two days a week Tuesdays and Thursdays with the opportunity of increasing days after the spring bank holiday to cover maternity leave. The ideal candidate will be confident in delivering the Biology Curriculum to pupils across KS3 and KS4, supporting the department in achieving high standards of education.
Day-to-day of the role:
• Deliver engaging and effective lessons that inspire and challenge students.

• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments in line with curriculum requirements.

• Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback to support their academic growth.

• Collaborate with the Science department to enhance the curriculum and share best teaching practices.

• Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school training events.

• Maintain a positive learning environment that promotes student well-being and discipline.

• Opportunity to work within a friendly and dedicated Science department and HOD.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• QTS Teaching qualification (PGCE, SCITT, MEd, Cert. Ed, etc.) or equivalent.

• A relevant Bsc in Biology or a related science subject.

• Experience delivering the Science/Biology curriculum up to GCSE and A-Level is desirable.

• A proactive team member committed to raising standards and student achievement.

• Newly Qualified Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.

• Right to Work in the UK (Visa Sponsorship not provided).
