Job Description:
Enjoying huge success partly as a result of their strong approach to customer service and building a trusting client relationship, this leading accounting firm in Newcastle are looking to create a new role for an Accountant in their outsourcing service line to oversee the day to day compliance.
Your day to day:
* Managing a portfolio of SME clients, preparing and reviewing year end accounts to a high standard timely as well as review of VAT returns prior to sign off and passing to Partner.
* Review of monthly management accounts, sense checking the output and identifying trends along with insightful commentary for clients.
* Planning resource for the team and timely delivery of assignments to include managing workflow, billing and delegation of tasks, providing support and guidance where needed to individual members.
* Liaison throughout the firm with Partners and external clients, building relationships with key decision-makers and answering client queries.
* Managing workflow progress, budgets and any issues that may arise during the process.
We are looking for individuals to demonstrate the following:
* Qualified by exam or experience Accountant with considerable experience working in an accounting practice and a sound knowledge of UK accounting principals. Please note finalists will also be considered.
* Places a high value on delivering a first class customer service and is able through strong communications skills to build relationships at different levels in different environments successfully.
* Technical competence in preparing statutory account preparation with no amends.
* As a Manager be able to manage your time effectively to deliver on deadlines, through good organisational skills and a methodical approach to your workload, with the ability to handle elements of pressure with multiple assignments.
* Able to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
* Commercial, forward-thinking with the ability to solve problems.
* Some exposure to management or supervisory / leadership in a team environment.
* Possess strong IT skills to include Excel and Word and preferably Xero and or CCH.
