The Role
Do you possess a degree or professional diploma in fire safety engineering, coupled with experience of implementing fire engineering solutions? Are you an expert in fire safety regulations with a talent for practical solutions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.
We are a passive fire protection specialist, looking to appoint an experienced and knowledgeable Fire Safety Engineer to our growing team.
You will use your expertise to provide technical fire engineering advice on a range of buildings throughout the design, construction and occupancy phases.

There will be adhoc travel to London and other sites across the country.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identifying fire-related risks and advising on how to reduce or eliminating them.
* Producing fire strategy documents for new and existing buildings.
* Producing fire safety management plans for new and existing buildings.
* Advising on fire safety measures at design and construction stages.
* Making recommendations for the materials used in the construction or refurbishment of a building including the external wall systems.
* Visiting project/construction sites to advise on the installation or implementation of the designs.
* Providing technical advice on safe building occupancy levels, fire evacuation plans etc.
* Liaising with local authorities and/or building control professionals as required.
* Take a lead role in developing and growing our fire engineering capability.
* Provide high quality technical fire consultancy to clients.
* Keep abreast of current legislation, relevant national and international standards and guidelines and technical developments within the relevant field.
* Respond to requests for client work and proposals in a timely manner.
* Working closely with our business development team developed positive client relationships.

The Person
* A degree or professional diploma in fire safety engineering or equivalent.
* Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers or Institute for Fire Safety Managers.
* Significant experience of implementing fire engineering solutions in a range of settings.
* Excellent knowledge of the current and emerging fire safety legislation framework.
* Strong analytical and report writing ability.
* Ability to verbally communicate complex information simply and concisely.
* Positive approach to the challenges of change and see change as an opportunity not a threat.
* Ability to prioritise and schedule objectives to optimise time, cost and quality.
* Strives to improve performance and uses innovative methods to get there.
* Technical leader and team player.
