Job Description:
Our manufacturing client based in Wellingborough is seeking an experienced Purchaser/Buyer to join their busy Engineering department.
The purpose of this role is to build up strong and trusting relationships with suppliers to ensure a consistency in delivery and agreed price. The role requires strategic thinking in understanding current and operational usage and actioning accordingly.
· Purchase from MRP & run daily stock reports.
· Create purchase orders.
· Liaise with supply chain to ensure on time delivery work with quality.
· Monitoring and organising the replacement materials for any rejected items.
· General administration duties.
· All employees may, on occasion, be reasonably requested to undertake assignments that may fall outside of their normal working hours.
· Ensure price files are kept up to date.
· Document Control.
· Order office consumables.
· Assist with other tasks within the purchasing department when required.
· Communicate with other departments to ensure smooth running.
· Invoice query resolution.
The Candidate
· Previous experience in a busy buying environment.
· PC literate with experience of using MS Office (Office, SAGE, MRP, CRM).
· Excellent communication skills and a clear telephone manner are essential.
· Team player and willing to assist colleagues when required.
· Possess good organizational skills and can prioritise effectively.
· Excellent negotiating skills.
· Being self-motivated, proactive, and dynamic.
· Be an analytical thinker.
· Be able to risk manage effectively.
· Be flexible to meet demands of the role.

The hours of work Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 16:45pm with 30 mins lunch, Fridays 8:30am to 13:00pm
