Sovereign Network Group is a charitable organisation dedicated to making a positive impact. We are recruiting for a highly skilled Senior Service Charge Officer to join our Finance team.
You’ll be based from our Wembley office, with the flexibility to combine home and office working 2 days per week
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Service Charge Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing service charge processes, ensuring accuracy in calculations, and leading a team of 2 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
*Ensure accurate calculation of annual estimated service charges and timely production of demand notices in compliance with statutory requirements.
*Oversee the annual reconciliation of final service charge statements for leaseholders and tenants.
*Manage a team of two direct reports, providing guidance, support, and performance management.
*Develop and implement an annual service improvement plan in collaboration with the Service Charge Manager.
*Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative requirements, including the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.
*Collaborate with internal teams to improve service charge processes and ensure transparency.
What We’re Looking For:
*Qualified by experience or part-qualified accountant with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
*Proficiency in financial accounting systems such as SUN, Vision, and NEC Housing (formerly Northgate)
*Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Word and Excel.
*Extensive knowledge of service charge regulations and best practices.
*Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
