We’re partnering with a growing specialist technology business to appoint three Business Validation Analysts. The organisation helps mobile networks and messaging providers verify that businesses presenting a branded identity to consumers are legitimate and accurately representing who they claim to be.
Using business records, websites, contact information, brand checks and screening data, the business produces evidence-backed validation decisions for its customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in merchant onboarding, underwriting, KYB/KYC, financial crime, business information, credit, research or investigations who enjoys conducting detailed research and making well-supported decisions.
The Opportunity
As a Business Validation Analyst, you’ll research and assess businesses to establish their legitimacy and confirm that their identity, trading activity and brand representation are accurate.
The role covers two key stages: pre-validation and validation. You’ll initially receive comprehensive training and support, progressing into the full validation process as your knowledge, confidence and consistency develop.
The technology platform gathers and presents much of the relevant information, but you’ll be responsible for interpreting it, conducting additional research where necessary and applying sound judgement to reach evidence-based conclusions.
Key Responsibilities
During pre-validation, you’ll establish whether an applicant is the registered business it claims to be by:
*Checking company records, websites, addresses, contact details and trading names.
*Using reliable independent sources to verify the information provided.
*Identifying connections between registered businesses, trading names and consumer-facing brands.
*Investigating discrepancies across company information, websites, addresses and contact details.
*Building a clear and comprehensive evidence trail to support your findings.
As you progress into the wider validation process, you’ll also be responsible for:
*Reviewing company records, accounts, ownership structures and directors.
*Conducting sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEP) and adverse-media screening.
*Reviewing websites, privacy policies, terms and conditions and domain information.
*Assessing email addresses, logos and brand names to establish credible connections.
*Investigating franchise, group-company and trading-name relationships.
*Identifying and investigating gaps, inconsistencies and potential risks.
*Making evidence-backed decisions and documenting your findings clearly.
*Distinguishing genuine screening matches from unrelated businesses or individuals with similar names.
About You
You’ll have experience in a role that has required you to research businesses, verify information, assess potential risks and make decisions based on evidence.
Relevant professional backgrounds may include:
*Merchant onboarding, underwriting or risk.
*KYB, KYC or client onboarding.
*Customer Due Diligence (CDD) or Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD).
*Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or financial crime.
*Business information, credit analysis or credit risk.
*Trade credit underwriting.
*Fraud investigation or counter-fraud.
*Intelligence analysis.
*Brand protection.
*Trading Standards or a similar investigative environment.
Applications are also welcomed from strong researchers in other professional backgrounds who can demonstrate excellent attention to detail, judgement and written communication skills.
Telecommunications experience is not required.
Key Skills and Attributes
You will be:
*Highly analytical, with excellent attention to detail.
*Comfortable conducting detailed online research across multiple sources.
*Able to assess information objectively and reach well-supported decisions.
*Confident identifying inconsistencies and recognising when further investigation is required.
*Comfortable working at pace while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
*Able to communicate findings clearly and concisely in writing.
*Confident using browser-based systems and navigating multiple information sources.
*Reliable, discreet and comfortable handling confidential information..
French or German language skills would be advantageous, as would experience living or working in France or Germany. Familiarity with local business practices, brands, address formats and naming conventions, or previous experience working with international businesses, would also be beneficial. However, these are not essential requirements.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a growing specialist technology business at an exciting stage of its development, with increasing activity across the UK, France and Germany.
In return, you’ll benefit from:
*A salary of £35,000 per annum.
*Permanent employment.
*Remote working initially.
*Comprehensive training and ongoing support.
*The opportunity to develop specialist expertise across business verification, KYB/KYC, screening, brand validation and investigation.
*Scope to progress into broader validation responsibilities and take ownership of increasingly complex cases.
*The opportunity to make a direct impact on the quality of decisions produced for customers.
*A role within a growing international area of the business.
